History
It was back in the 1760’s that the firm of Jan Salm & Meyer began to offer ship brokerage services in the port of Amsterdam. The company specialised in ships to and from Germany, Poland, Russia and Finland.

In 1915 Jan Salm & Meyer merged with the B.J. van Hengel company to form the Verenigd Cargadoorskantoor, nowadays known as VCK Logistics. Later other reputable firms joined.

After de Second World War, VCK branched out into airfreight. In 1947 VCK received one of the first IATA licenses in the Netherlands. Our office and warehousing facilities at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol opened for business. New terminals in the Port of Amsterdam were built.

Of course, at present VCK is all about high tech shipping and communication technology. Our warehouses and handling are state-of-the-art. However, some aspects of the ‘days of old’ remain: our know how and tradition of dependable service in all our activities.
